A new project..

Well, we've started another project in our basement (but the question is when it will be finished..). We decided that we're done with this fireplace and we ripped it out. This is actually what our fireplace looked like upstairs before we ripped it out.

Our motivation in doing this project was to have a sweet place for Jason and Melissa's new 42inch screen TV. So we wired it for the TV to go above the fireplace. The blue tubes are for all the cords and we did it on both sides so we'd always have the option to move the DVD player, surround sound equipment, etc. to either side. This wall has been drywalled and has, unfortunately, stayed that way.
